Zinc Selenocyanate, Zn(CNSe)2

Zinc Selenocyanate Zn(CNSe)2, may be obtained by dissolving either the metal or its oxide in selenocyanic acid. It forms groups of prismatic needles, which are not deliquescent. By the action of selenium on a solution of zinc cyanide in liquid ammonia, the compound Zn(CNSe)2.4NH3 has been obtained. Similar compounds of magnesium and aluminium have also been described.
